TPLO - CRUCIATE LIGAMENT SURGERY

Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, or TPLO, is a surgical procedure that stabilises a dog’s knee after rupture of the cruciate ligament. By changing the angle of the tibia (shin bone) it prevents abnormal movement in the joint, reducing pain and arthritis risk. A cut is made in the shin bone, after which it is rotated to create a different angle. A metal plate and screws are placed to keep it in place while it heals.
