MEET THE TEAM

Veterinarian

Hi! My name is Maxime Heijkoop-Laterveer and I recently joined the veterinary team of Morayfield and Narangba vet surgery. I graduated in 2019 from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands with a master’s degree in small animal veterinary medicine.

During uni, I worked at the emergency and critical care department of the University which taught me to stay calm when urgent care is needed. I started my career in a large private practice in Rotterdam, The Netherlands where I was very fortunate to be trained as a veterinary surgeon. I love the challenge of difficult patients and making a difference as a vet whenever I can. It’s probably no surprise that my two main interests are surgery and emergencies, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’ll need me.

After travelling the world for a fair bit, my husband Marco and I fell in love with Australia. When Jenni gave us the opportunity to migrate to this beautiful country we went straight for it and we brought our fox-red labrador Ruby with us. Having our own dog made me realise what owner’s go through when their pet is sick. Besides travelling, we love to hike, watch dolphins from the beach, climb mountains, do triathlons, enjoy good wine and spoil our dog Ruby.
